Engagement Model

Our engagement model is customized to each client's distinct requirements, depending on the nature of the project. Clients have an alternative of having our consultants on-site at their location, all work to be done off-site at our midtown offices, or our offshore facilities. Our proprietary matrix methodology provides additional flexibility, as the above options are combined to achieve fast, high quality results. We also offer on-call flat fee professional consultants available at clients' disposal.

On-Site Approach

The On-Site approach infers all business activities to be taking place at the client's location. Project management, business analysis, and design & development teams are all based on-site with the client thoroughly reporting project status to CenterSys' home office. The client's user community and project sponsors work closely with CenterSys' project management and design team to establish deliverables, timelines, milestones, team composition, etc. Day-to-day supervision of the activities is handled by a combination of the client's team and CenterSys' PMO. This approach is ideal for engagements where the scope has not been fully defined or is subject to change, the deliverables or the requirements can change dynamically, or when information is confidential, proprietary, or the customer has other concerns about the security or dissemination of proprietary information. The on-site approach is associated with aggressive project timelines, milestones, and deliverables.

Off-Site Approach

In the Off-Site approach, the work is performed at the CenterSys facility located at 339 Fifth Avenue in New York City. Prior to project inception, we meet with the client's team to go over the details of the engagement. The project scope, deliverables, screen layouts, reporting, functionality issues, timelines, etc. are all defined in detail. A small mockup of the actual application may also be developed during this phase to understand the look and feel of the end product.

After the definition phase, work moves to the CenterSys facility. Formal progress reports and deliverables are made available to the customer at pre-agreed intervals or per ad hoc basis. The client may request to receive remote access to the development server via a secure connection. By accessing the development server remotely, the client can monitor progress in real time and maintain overall control, despite the labor being done at an off-site. This approach is ideal for engagements that meet the following criteria:

  • The project scope, requirements and functionality have been thoroughly defined
  • Aggressive project timelines, milestones, and deliverables are established
  • On-site client meetings with the development team or PMO are scheduled

Off-Shore Approach

In the Off-Shore approach, labor is performed at a particular CenterSys development center located in New Delhi, India or Saint Petersburg, Russia. The final location is selected based on the nature and the scope of the project. Prior to the project inception, a New York-based CenterSys BA/PMO team meets with the customer team to work out the details of the engagement. The scope of the project, the deliverables, screen layouts, reporting, functionality, timelines, etc. are all defined in detail. A small mockup of the actual application may also be developed during this phase to understand the look and feel of the end product.

After the definition phase, labor is performed at the chosen development centers. Formal progress reports and deliverables will be made available to the customer at pre-agreed intervals or per ad hoc basis. The client may request to receive remote access to the development server via a secure connection. By accessing the development server remotely, the client can monitor progress in real-time, and maintain an overall control, despite the labor being done offshore. This approach is ideal for engagements that meet the following criteria:

  • The project has budgetary constraints
  • The scope and requirements are stable and well-defined
  • Aggressive project timelines, milestones, and deliverables are established

Matrix

By using a combination of on-site, off-site and offshore resources, customers can maximize utilization of time and resources for complex projects. This arrangement allows retention of control for high-to-medium level issues while eliminating day-to-day involvement in mundane, routine details.
